CfP: Tot Art – The Visual Arts, Fascism(s) and Mass-Society

We seek contributions of significant theoretical and cultural breadth that explore
The shaping of a culture, of viewers, and the underlying fascist aesthetics and philosophies by and
through the visual arts as well as the interpretations, representations, provocations of these
fascism(s) via the visual arts and their comparison(s) with ‘normal’ or ‘desirable’ states of society. In
addition to studies focusing on historical and geographical specifities (in particular, Germany, Spain,
Portugal, Japan, Eastern Europe, North and Latin America and Africa), we welcome contributions
that explore the role certain aspects of these totalitarian trends play in crafting the present (in
Media, Education, Economy etc.)

Please forward a brief CV and a detailed 500-word abstract proposal by January 20, 2014. All
contributions will be refereed. Selected essays should not exceed fifteenpages in length and
must be submitted in their final version by September 15, 2014. Proposalsshould be sent
(preferably as MS Word attachments) to the addresses below:
