Nachdem die Ergebnisse des ersten Teils des Projektes „Redrawing Stories from the Past“ 2015/16 in Berlin und Chemnitz zu sehen war, sind nun die Beteiligten des zweites Teils – mit dem Schwerpunkt „Flucht und Migration in Europa“ – am Goethe-Institut in Leipzig zu Gast. Vom 2. bis 5. Juli findet dort ein Workshop unter der Leitung von ComFor-Mitglied Ole Frahm und Comic-Künstler Sascha Hommer statt, bei dem der aktuelle Stand der Arbeiten präsentiert und diskutiert wird.
Die beteiligten Künstlerinnen sind Lea Heinrich, Lina Itagaki, Emilie Josso, Julia Kluge und Alice Socal. Die Ergebnisse sollen im Herbst 2018 in Deutschland zu sehen sein.
Projektbeschreibung (Englisch):
„In the second part of the project, “Escape and Migration in Europe”, we wanted to explore the history of flight and migration as a consequence of National Socialism. The scope of the project, however, goes beyond the historical events of this period as participants also examine the medium- and long-term impact of escape and migration. These consequences are passed down from generation to generation and are still discernible in today’s societies. This approach will allow us to draw parallels between historic and current events (e.g. refugee and migration flows to Europe) with the aim of fostering a better understanding of history among the participating artists and youth, as well as the general public.“
