Special Issue 11.2: Open Issue/Forum for Shorter Articles
Stichtag: 2020 07 31

While Studies in Comics 11.2 is an open issue with no particular theme the editors have decided to create a space within the issue to host shorter articles than normal. This recognises the impact that C19 has had on academic workloads and research time and is intended to give researchers, and particularly those with caring and other commitments, an opportunity to share their research with their peers during these challenging times. Our usual word limit for articles is 4000-8000 words, but for this Forum we encourage shorter pieces of 1000-3000 words.  These articles may be on any comics-related subject. The deadline for submissions for 11.2 is 31st July 2020. We also remain open to submissions of normal length for this issue.

Submissions

Shorter articles for the Forum should be 1000-3000 words long. Other articles not intended for the Forum should be 4000 – 8000 words long. Please send complete articles for consideration to studiesincomics@googlemail.com and include the word ARTICLE in the subject heading. If it is a shorter piece for the Forum the subject should read ARTICLE-FORUM. All articles should be received by 31st July 2020 along with a biographical note of up to 150 words. All submissions will be peer-reviewed. Papers must be submitted in English. All articles submitted should be original work and must not be under consideration by other publications. This special issue will be published late-2020.

We also welcome reviews of new publications and exhibits and short pieces of creative work (1-5 pages in length). Reviews of publications and conferences and exhibitions: please include the words REVIEW PUBLICATION or REVIEW CONFERENCE or REVIEW EXHIBITION in the subject heading. Creative submissions: please include the word CREATIVE in the subject heading.

Please share. For further details or queries please contact studiesincomics@googlemail.com.
